About James Field

James is a senior lecturer within the School of Media at the University of Lincoln, providing teaching and support in the areas of media production, interaction, web and game design. Previous experiences in education also include 7 years working with the Hull School of Art & Design as well as a number of tutor-led short courses in specialised creative software. James has experience as a freelance designer and multimedia developer.  His portfolio includes e-learning projects for Universities and web design projects for the public sector as well as more creative media-based projects. James is a founding member of the co_LAB Research Network, which was set up to develop more open, interdisciplinary and collaborative pedagogical frameworks. co_LAB is focussed on exchanging knowledge and skills across a network of European partner universities, which currently include: The Academy of Pop Culture, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (NL) TAMK University of Applied Sciences (FI) Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (LI) BKF University of Applied Sciences, Budapest (HU). Department Responsibilities

James is part of the Digital Media team who deliver core skills to all students at level 1. As students progress to levels 2, 3 & Masters, his specialist knowledge of interaction, web, mobile & games design is then disseminated via a series of workshops, lectures and tutorials. James also plays a key role in curriculum development in the ever-changing subject area of Digital Media. James is a member of the TELSTAG working group, involved in developing and expanding the University’s learning technology strategy and provision. He also coordinates Erasmus exchange partnerships with The Hague University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) and Kadir Has University (Turkey).
