About Helen Davies

Helen Davies is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Social Science. After qualifying as a social worker in 1986, Helen Davies has alternated between social work education and work in a range of adult social care settings, mirroring the changes in those services through her involvement in the closure of a long-stay hospital, the evolution of personalised services and the development and implementation of safeguarding policies. Helen has taught on qualifying social work programmes since 1999.  Her last post before joining Lincoln University in 2009 was with the Independent Living Fund as Social Work Co-ordinator for Wales and Northern Ireland. As a registered social worker, Helen continues in practice, on the management committee of a project working with asylum-seekers.
