About Lee Crust

I joined the School of Sport and Exercise Science as a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology in September 2009. Previously I worked at Lincoln College (teaching on Nottingham Trent University Programs) from 1997 to 2004 before spending 4 years at York St. John University and a year at the University of Hull. In 2004 I was awarded a doctorate in psychology from the University of Lincoln for work concerning the effects of asynchronous music on sport and exercise performance. I am currently collaborating with Prof. Peter Clough (Manchester Metropolitan University) and Prof. Robert Weinberg (Miami University)  on several research projects concerning the relationship between mental toughness, success, and well-being. I regularly present my research at national and international conferences.

Department Responsibilities

My role involves teaching sport and exercise psychology and research methods across both under-graduate and post-graduate programs. I also supervise student dissertations. I am an active researcher and will be part of the School R.E.F. submission in 2014. I currently lead the MTOUGH (Mental Toughness) Research Group and coordinate a research seminar series. I represent the school at both the College Board of Studies and the College Research Committee.
