Gyles Lingwood is Director of Education for the College of Arts and teaches on the Creative Advertising programme in the School of Design. After graduating from Birmingham Institute of Art & Design he worked in central London for a wide range of high profile advertising and design companies. Gyles’ work has been featured in the national design press and has won a number of awards including D&AD, British Interactive Media Association and the US Creativity Awards. His students are regularly successful in national/international advertising competitions (including D&AD) – at the last count more than 100 of his students have won prizes.
Gyles has been on validation panels for UK Higher Education design courses and regularly undertakes advisory roles in the area of design education as well as speaking at business events on the subjects of creativity, idea generation and copywriting. His book ‘Read Me - 10 Lessons for Writing Great Copy’ (co-authored with Roger Horberry) was published by Laurence King in September 2014.
