Argyrios Zolotas is a Reader in College of Science and Deputy Director of Research in the School of Engineering. He joined Lincoln in 2014, while previously held academic positions at University of Sussex and Loughborough University, and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Imperial College London. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Argyrios leads research in the area of smart systems (emphasizing integrated systems and control design). He is an expert on feedback control systems analysis and design (robust control and fault tolerant control), sensor configuration for control and fault tolerance, control applications in railway engineering, system complexity and robustness . Also has interests and involvement in work on emerging control applications. To date, he has successfully supervised 6 PhD students to completion and advised 3 FT Research fellows and 1 PT Research assistant on a variety of funded research projects.
Expertise: Robust control, Applications of Fractional Order Control, PID Control, Sensor Configuration/ Controller Structure Selection, Railway Control Applications.
