About Abby Samson

Abby Samson joined the School of Engineering in 2013 and is currently a Senior Lecturer.  Prior to this, she was a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, working on biomass upgrading.  She has over 10 years of experience in fuels research.  Her main area of expertise deals with the development of renewable energy from thermochemical conversion of biomass including fundamental studies on biomass gasification, combustion and pyrolysis. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leeds (2011) in the area of biomass conversion, a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University (2005) in the area of coal and carbon science and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame (2003).
