About Mafalda Aresta Branco

My research is focused on physiological and pathophysiological conditions that affect the urinary tract system. I use ex-vivo and in-vitro models to investigate the role of normal and aberrant cell signaling in cell, tissue and organ function. My current studies focus in particular on the renoprotective effect of sodium-glucose co-transporter inhibitors in diabetic kidney disease.
