Lisa Baker is the University’s Head of Governance and runs the Secretariat team. Lisa has worked in HE administration for 20 years and joined the University of Lincoln in 2005. She previously worked at the University of Nottingham. Lisa has delivered workshops at several AUA conferences regarding good practice in committee servicing and student complaints procedures (most recently at the Annual AUA Conference in March 2018). She was seconded to HEFCE on a part-time basis as a Panel Secretary for two Units of Assessment for the RAE 2008 and in 2016 she presented at a national Student Complaints conference around embedding student complaints procedures institutionally. Lisa is currently the module co-ordinator for, and lectures on, the Organisational and Board Effectiveness module for the MSc Governance which started in September 2018.
Lisa’s remit includes managing the servicing of University-level Boards and Committees, overseeing the management of student contention cases (in particular academic appeals and complaints but also disciplinary and fitness to practise cases when they reach University level), drafting University regulations and driving them through the approval process, Chairing the Standing Regulations Oversight Group, overseeing delivery of the information compliance agenda and line managing a team of eight.
