About Julian Turner

Julian Turner is a Publications Officer in Marketing. He is an NCTJ-qualified journalist, and English graduate, with experience in print and digital media in the UK and Southeast Asia. This includes editorial positions at the Bangkok Post newspaper in Thailand and The Straits Times in Singapore. Career highlights include a one-on-one interview with boxer Manny Pacquiao in his hometown of General Santos City in the Philippines, live television commentary in Singapore and Indonesia, and helping to produce coverage of a political insurrection on the streets of Bangkok. Prior to joining the University of Lincoln, he was the Assistant News Editor at the Nottingham Post and has previously worked at the Lincolnshire Echo. His time at the Echo included a period as the full-time Lincoln City football club writer. Julian has also been a long-time contributor to weekly trade magazine Boxing News, and has had a book published about Boston United football club. His early career involved working as a video games tester for Rockstar on the original Grand Theft Auto, a stint as an apprentice deck officer with Stephenson Clarke Shipping and time in the fish and vegetable processing industries in Grimsby with Bluecrest, Ross Young’s and Christian Salvesen.
