Tim served for over 27 years as a Catering Officer, and latterly as a Logistics Officer in the Royal Air Force. During his service he was employed in a variety of posts, primarily in the role of catering specialist, with the pinnacle of his Royal Air Force catering responsibilities being empowered for 3 years as the Head of the Royal Air Force Catering Specialization. Other roles included: Planning, Finance & Budgets officer; Leadership lecturer and instructor; Head of the Royal Air Force Catering School; and Human Recourse and Talent Management. His last tour of duty before retirement was as Senior Staff officer responsible for the identification and development of the Generic Education and Training Curriculum for all Royal Air Force personnel, and associated responsibility for the development of the Royal Air Force Virtual Learning Environment. Tim served overseas in Germany, the Falkland Islands, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, whilst enjoying postings across England and Scotland. Tim retired from the Royal Air Force in June 2013, and took up the position of Work Based Distance Learning Military Programmes Manager. More recently Tim decided that his ‘forte’ was with within Teaching, Learning and Student engagement, thus applied and was accepted as a Full-Time WBDL Tutor.
