About Sarah Schiffling

My main research interests are in socially and environmentally sustainable operations, complex problems, and humanitarian logistics.  The consistent thread throughout my work is the focus on the interface of operations and communities. Recent projects include work on developing entrepreneurship in Bhutan, complexity in humanitarian logistics, and food supply chains in remote rural locations. I have worked with logistics company Kuehne + Nagel in Canada and Germany, both as an airfreight export operator and in developing special systems and solutions for key clients in the aerospace industry. At Rolls-Royce in Derby, I conducted a project on improving information flow in aftermarket services.
