    About Richard Allarton

    Richard Allarton CEng, FHEA, MIMechE, SaRS

    My area of interests include sustainability, industrial support and operational safety assurance.
    With some 30 years’ experience in aircraft engineering for the Royal Air Force, I fulfilled Trade Manager positions on 2 separate Squadrons and several instructional roles for the Directorate of Specialist Ground Training and the Harrier Maintenance School.
    Whilst with The High Integrity Systems Engineering Group at The University of York, I was Programme Leader for their MSc in Gas Turbine Control and lectured in Operational Safety and Safety Analysis Techniques.  I developed and delivered bespoke Continued Professional Development programmes for the University, both at home and abroad.
    At the University of Lincoln, I am currently engaged as the Programme Leader for MSc Engineering Management.  I sit on several College pedagogic committees and act as the School of Engineering’s Student Industrial Outreach Officer.
    Previously, I led the Engineering element of the Sustain Lincolnshire project, presenting our findings at the Global Cleaner Production and Sustainable Consumption 2015
    My areas of interest include Sustainability through Industrial Symbiosis and the pedagogic support of industry.

    I am a BMAA Microlight Inspector and a Microlight Tug pilot
