Massoud Zolgharni is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science in College of Science. He joined the School in September 2015.
Previously, he was a Senior Research Associate in the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He holds the Higher Education Academy Associate Fellowship. Massoud received his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, and completed his Master and PhD studies at Brunel and Swansea Universities, UK.
His research interests lie in the area of Biomedical Engineering, in general, and Medical Imaging, in particular. Massoud has been lecturing at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering a wide range of courses including Research Methods, Image Processing, and Computer Architectures, and Parallel Computing. He serves as a reviewer for major journals in physics, engineering, and cardiology. In recent years, he has focused on developing automated techniques for low-cost and non-invasive cardiac imaging applications.
