Janette Porteous is a Senior Lecturer within the School of Law. For over 20 years she has taught law at two institutions on a variety of law courses. She has been working at the University of Lincoln since 1990. Prior to coming into education, Janette practised as a barrister in London in the field of first criminal law and latterly personal injury with special interest in medical law. Until 2011 Janette was the LL.B Course Leader and currently she is a Senior Tutor with overall responsibility for Personal Tutoring within the Law School.
Janette’s main teaching interests are Family and Employment Law.

Janette is a Barrister, having been called to the Bar in 1986. She is a member of Lincoln’s Inn (academic). She is also a member of the Barrister’s Family Law Association and the Family Law Court
