Research and Enterprise Executive Office
Research and Enterprise
Andrew Stevenson is a Director of Research & Enterprise, a central professional support department working across all areas of the University. Prior to joining the University, Andrew established his own business from start-up, through development and growth to eventual sale. During this period he also secured an Executive MBA, with a particular focus on the reasons for SME short-term failure and how this can be improved.
Research & Enterprise supports all research and enterprise activity across the institution, including: research grant support; business start-up & growth; technology transfer; funding partnerships; knowledge exchange; employer engagement and careers & employability. At the heart of this work is a drive to establish wide and deep relationships with key industrial partners (e.g. Siemens around engineering and the Lincolnshire Co-operative around pharmacy). Andrew also had a leading role in establishing the Lincoln Science & Innovation Park and the Lincoln Growth Fund (supported by the Regional Growth Fund), alongside a range of access to finance initiatives for growing regional companies.
Andrew is currently a Director and Chair of the East Midlands Incubation Network, a Director of Investors in Lincoln, the University spin-out company Metnano Limited and the Midlands Engine Innovation Group. He provides a key link to the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, the Midlands Engine and has led for the University on the establishment of the Midlands Enterprise Universities Group (alongside Wolverhampton, Coventry, Birmingham City, DeMontfort, Nottingham Trent and Derby universities).
