My undergraduate degree was in Sociology and Psychology at the University of Bath. My PhD was gained at Loughborough University under the supervision of Professor Michael Billig and where I was a member of the Loughborough Discourse and Rhetoric Group for five years. I have been lecturing at the University of Lincoln since 1997.
My teaching is mostly in the area of Social Psychology, which I teach in Year 1 & 2. I also teach Individual Psychology in Year 1. In Year 3 I run an elective based on my area of particular research expertise, called Discourse (Module coordinator). I am also a member of the Module Team for Year 2 Research Skills and offer some coverage of qualitative methods to various MSc programmes. In addition, I supervise Year 3 dissertation students, and Masters and PhD students.
