About Ian Mathews

Ian Mathews is a Senior Lecturer in social work in the College of Social Science. I have been a qualified social worker since 1981 and have worked in a range of settings across adult, child and mental health care. I was a practice educator and an approved social worker for the purposes of the Mental Health Act for nearly twenty years.

Department Responsibilities

I am the programme leader for the B.Sc(Hons) Social Work degree programme and am coordinator for a range of modules, mainly in adult care and professional practice.
